Attend GJA Assembly Meeting
You will attend the state General Jural Assembly meeting and at the prescribed time in the meeting agenda new members will be admitted.  You will have your DOI, DUR, and JCO completed ahead of time–your sponsors should have made sure that you received the blank forms–leaving the witness areas blank.  The Moderator will administer the JCO and then witness signatures obtained for the DUR and JCO.  All three completed documents are given to the GJA Recording Secretary who will add a unique JCO number and make certified true copies.  The original will be returned to you, one copy kept for the GJA and a second copy provided to give to the County Jural Assembly (CJA)

As a new member the GJA will add you to the e-mail or other communication system being used, provide access to the state website, and complete whatever on-boarding process is in place.

REGULAR ATTENDANCE.
The foundation of self-government is the act of participation in it.  You are needed.  Eighty percent of our power is in just showing up!  Regular attendance at the GJA meeting may involve travel once a month , but that is a small price to pay to securing freedom for ourselves and out posterity.  It keeps you informed and allows you to represent to your CJA what is happening.  Regular attendance also exposes you to continued educational opportunities.  And all gain experience in self-government.

RULES.
In addition to the foundational and membership; documents assemblies adopt rules for meetings and other procedures.  It is important to understand and follow rules in order to be efficient and effective while protecting everyone's rights.

Make sure to learn whatever rules have been adopted by the GJA as Standing Rules.  Make sure to ​complete the lesson in the Comprehensive Course on Rules.

The Rules Digest is often adopted at an early date by an assembly.  It provides a brief description of the most common motions and their use, and describes how motions are handled in meetings.

RULES DIGEST

OFFICE.
Once on board as a participating member the opportunity to serve as an officer is available.  During the interim period many offices require only "showing up."  The GJA offices do involve some work, but it is not hard.  Volunteer to serve. You are needed and you can do it.

We all learned that "graduation" isn't really the end, it is the "commencement" of what comes next!
